Better than drizzle, a light but persistent rain soaked my clothes and shoes as I walked home from a meeting in town under the rolling of thunder.

Little kids under verandas pointed and giggled at the wet man as he strut with shoulders and head forced high under the weight of falling water. But I could feel the land sigh its relief, even though we know it’s temporary.

I don’t care if I get a cold.
